PRIME for life

PRIME for life is a preventive program.  It is designed for first time DWI offenders.  The objective is to prevent reoccurrence of driving while intoxicated by changing the driver’s thinking about drinking.  2nd Chance will begin the first classes offered by referral through the Marion County court system beginning in November 2004.  The classes will be offered as a 12 or 20 hour class determined by the court.

The Indiana Judicial Center and Prevention Research Institute have worked together on a pilot program to accomplish a goal…change the thinking of drinking drivers.  The program protocol applies decades of research finding on what attitudes and beliefs need to be targeted and changed for thinking about drinking to change.  The ultimate outcome, of course, is to prevent drunk driving.
